Homemade Chocolate Syrup

This rich, smooth chocolate syrup is deeply flavored with cocoa and perfectly balanced with a touch of vanilla and salt. Silky and pourable, it’s perfect for drizzling over desserts, stirring into milk, or adding to coffee.

Ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 1 cup sugar
• ½ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
• Pinch of salt
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
2. Place over medium heat and bring to a low boil, whisking every 30 seconds to keep the mixture smooth.
3. Once it reaches a gentle boil, remove from heat.
4. Add the vanilla extract and whisk again until fully combined.
5. Pour into a mason jar or heat-safe container and allow to cool completely before sealing with a lid.
6. Store in the refrigerator and use as needed.
