Homemade Peach Jam

A thick, flavorful peach jam bursting with fresh peach flavor and warm spices. This homemade filling is perfect for peach rolls, pastries, cakes, biscuits, and more.

Ingredients

• 4 pounds frozen peaches
• 2 cups granulated cane sugar
• Juice of 1 lemon
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
• Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Add the peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to a large stockpot. Stir to combine.
2. Place the pot over medium-high heat and cover. As the peaches thaw and release their juices, stir occasionally.
3. Once softened, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture to your desired consistency. For a smoother jam, blend completely; for a chunkier filling, leave some peach pieces intact.
4. Continue cooking over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and cook for 10–15 minutes, or until thickened. The jam will continue to thicken as it cools.
5. Tip: The mixture may splatter while boiling. Partially cover the pot if needed.
6. Remove from heat and transfer the jam to a heat-safe bowl or container.
7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or overnight, to fully set before using.

Notes

• For a smoother, bakery-style filling, blend the jam completely.
• For peach rolls, chill the filling thoroughly before spreading over the dough.
• The jam can be prepared several days in advance and refrigerated until ready to use.
