Soft, buttery cookies bursting with colorful sprinkles and classic birthday cake flavor. Sweet, festive, and baked to perfection, these cookies bring the fun and nostalgia of birthday cake to every bite.

Ingredients

Wet

• 1 cup browned butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• ½ cup cane sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
• 2 tsp butter extract
• 3 Tbsp milk

Dry

• 3 c flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 c sprinkles

Icing

• 3 c powdered sugar
• 2 tsp butter extract
• 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
• 2-3 Tbsp milk
• Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter with the sugars and then add eggs, extracts/paste and milk. Beat for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
2. Add the dry ingredients and mix until fully combined.
3. Scoop about ¼ cup of dough and roll into balls. Place on a baking sheet, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together icing ingredients.
5. Refrigerate until ready to use, or leave at room temperature if using soon.
6. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375°F.
7. Place chilled cookie dough balls 2–3 inches apart on a baking sheet.
8. Bake for 12–13 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and set while the centers remain soft.
9. Allow cookies to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
10. Once fully cooled, frost generously with orange icing and enjoy!
